If They Fall, Draft Them

by Portland 7/2/08

Torry Holt, Chad Johnson, Laurence Maroney and Reggie Bush.  In Mock Drafts on fantasyfootballcalculator.com, these guys are falling far from their draft positions from last year.  Be the fantasy guru you are and draft these guys when they fall to you.

All Torry Holt does is catch 90+ passes, 1100+ yds and 7 touchdowns every year.  This year will be no different.  Last year seemed like a horrible year for Holt but he finished the season with 93 receptions, 1189 yds and 7 tds.  With a Healthy Herd of Rams this year, Holt will exceed those numbers.  He has a questionable knee but proved last year he still can be an explosive/productive player.

I draft Chad every year because I am still waiting for that 2000 yd season he talked about in 2003.  Chad will play this year and he will have 1300+ yds and 8+ touchdowns.  I don't care what anyone says because when Sunday arrives, he knows it's show time.  Whether or not he should be working for WWE remains debatable.

I love Laurence Maroney this year.  He finished strong in the playoffs which will continue into the 2008 regular season.  Maroney plays for the best team in the league and will have the opportunity to show off his talents this year.  He is a physical runner and plays Patriot football.  Bill Belichick rewards all his players and Marnoey will be no different.  As long as Maroney stays healthy he will run for 1400 yd and 12 tds.  Not bad for a 3rd-4th round selection.

This year, Reggie must prove he can be a NFL Super Star and his stats will show by seasons end.  I've seen him fall as late as the fourth round of many mock drafts and if he is there, I will draft him.  The Saints off-season defensive acquisitions will help keep the offense on the field.  Instead of the Saints coming from behind or being involved in a shoot out, the game will become manageable allowing Reggie to get into the flow and rhythm of the game.

Torry Holt, Chad Johnson, Laurence Maroney, Reggie Bush...I smell Championship!
